Are you passionate about connecting families and communities with meaningful opportunities? Wonderspring is seeking a dedicated
Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This grant-funded, two-year position will play a vital role in engaging families living in Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) communities and strengthening partnerships that support youth and family success.
You’ll help increase participation in Wonderspring’s free Out-of-School Time (OST) and aquatics programs, build connections with local schools and community organizations, and promote volunteerism and workforce opportunities through Section 3 outreach. What You’ll Get to Do (and Have Fun Doing!)- Connect PHA families and students with Wonderspring’s free OST and aquatics programs.
- Build strong relationships with local schools, community organizations, and families to increase awareness and participation.
- Represent Wonderspring at PHA meetings, community events, and information sessions.
- Help plan and support special events that celebrate program participation and family success.
- Track outreach and engagement activities to support compliance reporting and program evaluation.
Your Special Skills & Qualities - High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework in Human Services, Education, or Community Outreach preferred.
- Familiarity with Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) communities and understanding of Section 3 requirements required.
- Experience in community outreach, family engagement, or related resident services.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple outreach activities.
- Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends for community meetings or events.
- Must have reliable transportation for travel between sites.
- Must meet all DHS requirements, including current clearances (PA State Police, Child Abuse, FBI, NSOR) and a Health Assessment with TB test.
