Job Description

We are pleased to announce that Stanford Radiology has opened a broad area search in translational medical imaging. This position is full time at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level and will be appointed in the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS) division of Radiology. Stanford University and the Department of Radiology have made substantial commitments towards the expansion of MIPS including new space at the Technology & Innovation Park and the creation of a second advanced radiochemistry facility. Appointments will be in the University Tenure Line or Non-Tenure Line (Research). The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching. The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Non-Tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We seek applicants committed to developing a research program focused on translational medical imaging. This includes but is not limited to novel imaging instrumentation, novel chemistry/materials science for molecular imaging agent development, novel assay development, mathematical modeling, and translation of imaging strategies for clinical application. Scientists with a research focus related to radiochemistry are particularly encouraged to apply. We are interested in applicants who have multidisciplinary experience that can be applied to the development of disease detection and management approaches. The qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree(s) with experience in a relevant field. Candidates must have an interest in leading an independent research program and participating in our center-wide efforts to translate novel technologies or methodologies into clinical practice and have the desire to collaborate with investigators in Stanford's multi-disciplinary molecular imaging research effort, which includes faculty in the Schools of Medicine, Engineering, and Humanities & Sciences, as well as external investigators. The ideal candidate will have potential trajectory and/or demonstrated breadth of preparation, as exemplified by significant clinical and/or research experience resulting in high impact publications in biomedical research. A successful candidate will be expected to obtain substantial grant funding (e.g., NIH award(s)), and engage in multi-disciplinary research. We are looking for motivated individuals who are committed to excellence in research, teaching, and mentoring of students in multi- disciplinary biomedical research. Please apply by submitting your curriculum vitae and a candidate statement describing your clinical, teaching, and research activities and interests. The Radiology Department, School of Medicine and Stanford University value faculty who will help foster an inclusive academic environment for colleagues, students, and staff with a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and outlooks. Candidates may choose to include as part of their research and teaching statements a brief discussion about how their work and experience will further these ideals. Additional information about Stanford's IDEAL initiative may be found here: . Stanford is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Stanford also welcomes applications from others who would bring additional dimensions to the University's research, teaching and clinical missions. **Salary Range:** The expected base pay range for this position is: Assistant Professor: $192,000 - $210,000 Associate Professor: $226,000 - $250,000 Professor: $276,000 - $376,000 This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. For more information about compensation and our wide-range of benefits ( , including housing assistance ( , please contact the hiring department. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
