Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop FPGA firmware using VHDL and Verilog including simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and verification.
- Design and implement communication hardware based on high-level specifications.
- Support hardware development for space systems working with system engineers and optical communications test engineers.
- Work with optical communications hardware to support the group mission.
- Design and implement flash-based memory interfaces such as SATA and PCIe.
- Perform digital signal processing of optical signals and FPGA implementation of coherent processing of heterodyne receiver outputs, high-speed forward error correction codes, and interleavers.
- Integrate components and validate hardware designs.
- Support qualification and environmental testing including space environment considerations.
- Participate in design reviews, documentation, and technical reporting.
- Work onsite 3 days per week.

- master’s degree in related discipline — Preferred
