Position Overview
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CLIENT) is seeking an experienced Information Technology Support Consultant or firm to provide full-time support for its Meditech Magic (legacy) system and Materials Management Inventory System (MMIS). This role is integral to ensuring accurate inventory tracking, system optimization, and consistent collaboration between Materials Management and Health IT teams.
The selected consultant will serve as a subject matter expert for materials management systems, lead system improvement efforts, document standard operating procedures, and act as a liaison between various hospital departments and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with CLIENT leadership to develop, refine, and document policies and procedures related to materials management and inventory systems.
Maintain and update the item master file in Meditech based on direction from the Materials Management team.
Coordinate system access and user permissions to ensure appropriate access across modules.
Monitor and assess updates from the GHX platform, identifying impacts to operations and recommending adjustments as needed.
Recommend and implement improvements to optimize par levels and inventory accuracy.
Ensure interoperability and seamless data exchange between Meditech, MMIS, and platforms like Epic, in partnership with the Health Services IT Unit.
Build and document custom reports as requested by Materials Management leadership or CLIENT executives; train staff to independently generate these reports.
Standardize system dictionaries to improve usability for inventory teams.
Provide training to Materials Management staff on system functions, including item builds, item inactivation, and standard reporting features.
Coordinate, manage, and execute operational changes and projects within Meditech as needed .

Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience working with Meditech Magic (legacy) system and Materials Management Inventory Systems (MMIS) in a healthcare environment.
Strong understanding of materials management workflows, item master maintenance, and inventory optimization.
Familiarity with GHX platform updates and their impact on supply chain operations.
Ability to develop policies, draft documentation, and deliver staff training in a clinical or hospital setting.
Proficiency in custom report development, documentation, and user training.
Experience collaborating with clinical IT teams, especially regarding systems integration with Epic or similar platforms.
Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working within a county or public health system
Background in healthcare operations, inventory control, or materials management
Knowledge of California public health regulations and compliance standards
