Job Description

We are looking to fill a long-term Contract role as Lead Full-Stack Web Engineer

Mode of Interview: In person

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Work Location: Columbia, SC

Shift: EST

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Act as the technical lead for web development projects, overseeing the entire SDLC from requirements analysis and design to deployment and post-implementation support. This includes defining project scope, managing timelines, and delegating tasks to other team members.
  • Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain complex web applications and services using modern HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js), and server-side technologies (.NET, Java, or Node.js).
  • Architecture & Design: Define application architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and performant, particularly in compliance with state accessibility (ADA/WCAG) and security standards.
  • Requirements & Analysis: Collaborate directly with DPS stakeholders and business analysts to translate complex agency requirements into clear technical specifications and system designs.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement rigorous security protocols, including authentication mechanisms, data encryption, and input validation, adhering to strict state government policies and guidelines.
  • Code Review & Quality Assurance: Establish coding standards, conduct comprehensive code reviews, and mentor junior developers to ensure code quality, maintainability, and best practices are followed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in full-stack web engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or project leadership capacity. Experience in the public sector or government domain is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Depth: Expert proficiency in core web technologies and modern frameworks, database integration (SQL/NoSQL), and API design (REST/SOAP).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage small project teams, drive technical decisions, and communicate project status and technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Security Focus: Strong understanding of web application security risks (OWASP Top 10) and mitigation techniques.
