Job Description

Bemana is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor in the McKees Rocks, PA area to join the team of a provider of contract terminalling, blending, packaging, and shipping services for oil and chemical producers. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the function of the general plant, equipment, and facilities. 

Position offers:

  • Salary range: $90,000-95,000
  • PTO+ paid holidays each year

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management of Personnel:

    • Manage and oversee the work of maintenance department personnel.

    • Train and qualify personnel to carry out basic maintenance tasks safely, effectively, and professionally.

  • Interaction with Management and Other Departments:

    • Work closely with multiple internal stakeholders including Company Executive Management, the Plant Manager, and supervisors in other departments.

    • Prioritize and carry out required maintenance activities in coordination with these stakeholders.

  • Management of Contractor Personnel:

    • Manage and oversee the work of independent contractors at the facility.

    • Obtain bids for, schedule, and prioritize jobs conducted through outside contractors with management's approval.

    • Verify that outside contractors perform work in accordance with Company and industry safety and quality standards.

  • Project Management:

    • Manage the design and completion of maintenance, repair, and expansion projects.

    • Oversee the addition/removal of equipment and systems.

    • Coordinate basic layout and engineering of expansion and addition of piping/pump/equipment systems with outside contractor expertise and input from Company Management.

    • Qualities needed: work experience, willingness to learn and understand basic systems, common sense with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. An engineering degree is NOT required.

  • Training:

    • Develop and administer a training program for all new maintenance personnel.

    • Training program includes: safe use of hand and electric tools, basic work safety (electricity, forklift use, working at heights, confined space, lock out tagout, and other required workplace safety standards).

    • Ensure all maintenance personnel (in-house and contractor) are aware of procedural changes.

    • Provide refresher training for maintenance personnel as needed.

  • Equipment Maintenance:

    • Maintain, or have approved outside contractors maintain, equipment critical to the daily function of the facility.

    • Examples of equipment, systems, and other items requiring working knowledge and/or maintenance include:

      • Boilers and supporting equipment

      • Compressors

      • Furnaces

      • Water services and plumbing

      • Electrical Mains/Services/Wiring

      • Sprinkler/Fire Suppression Systems

      • Storage and process tanks

      • Pumps

      • Piping

      • Filter vessels

      • Buildings

      • Roadways

      • Truck scale

      • Oil Water separators

      • Hoses and fittings

      • Forklifts/Sweepers/Scrubbers

      • Containment Areas

      • Security Fences, gates and alarms

      • Equipment and/or environmental Alarms

    • Ensure equipment maintenance is performed on time as required per documented schedules in Plex (the Company's electronic information platform) to prolong useful life and prevent sudden breakdowns.

  • Purchasing:

    • Responsible for purchasing all items necessary to maintain existing equipment and for new projects under their responsibility.

    • Maintain sufficient supplies to prevent shortages that would cause shutdowns/breakdowns.

  • Facility Inspections:

    • Responsible for ensuring that facility maintenance inspections (required by management or outside regulatory agencies) are conducted in a timely manner and documented.

    • Examples include: daily yard checks, boiler, sprinkler system and oil water separator checks, and documented inspections of the facility and tank farm systems for product spills and containment integrity.

  • Spill/Emergency Response and Drills:

    • Responsible for directing cleanup in the event of product spills.

    • Work with the Pier Supervisor and Management to coordinate boom deployment drills, plant evacuation drills, etc.
