At Simply Yachts, LLC, part of Bluwater Group’s distinguished Maritime Division, our journey began with a shared love for the water and a vision to redefine the boating experience. We understand that while the allure of the sea captivates many, the intricacies of maintaining a boat can be less appealing. Our diverse team, ranging from seasoned mega-yacht captains to expert deep-water divers and skilled yacht refinishers, brings a comprehensive perspective to boating. We are currently looking for an experienced Marine Mechanic to add to our growing team.
Primary Responsibilities: - Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a variety of marine engines and systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on inboard and outboard motors, transmissions, and other marine components.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Install and repair boat systems, including steering, electrical, plumbing, and propulsion systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in marine technology and repair techniques.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in marine mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a marine mechanic or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of marine engine systems, including inboard and outboard motors.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy parts and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license
