Job Description

The Network Technician performs installation and termination of structured cabling systems.

Duties:

• Installing support structures (J-Hooks, support rings, cable slings and cable tray/ladder rack).
• Helps in the termination of workstation outlets and closet equipment. (110 & 66 blocks and patch panels)
• Identify, pull, and label CAT3,5,5E,6 and fiber optic cable.
• Test and troubleshoot cables.
• Respond to user questions and/or problems in an efficient and effective manner.
• Respond to beeper calls from Operations on programming problems regarding assigned applications.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Knowledge of cable systems test equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of desktop computers preferred.
• Must be able to climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, lift more than 50lbs.
• Must have analytical skills for communication.
• Must have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
