We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist who exhibits proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups, including pediatric blood collections and difficult draws in medical office buildings. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, effectively communicate its importance, and possess the ability to provide orientation and training for patient service technicians. All interactions with minors will be supervised by a supervisor or RN.
Responsibilities
+ Perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups.
+ Conduct pediatric blood collections and manage difficult draws in medical office buildings.
+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and communicate their importance to other employees.
+ Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.
+ Process specimens accurately and efficiently.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and capillary techniques.
+ Experience with neonatal and pediatric blood collections.
+ Knowledge of specimen processing.
+ Familiarity with lab systems, specifically Cerner.
+ Excellent customer service skills.
+ High school diploma.
+ CPT 1 License.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Computer savvy.
+ Available for an on-call schedule, typically 32 hours per week (range could be 24-40 hours).
Work Environment
This position operates in outpatient clinics located in Coachella Valley, covering areas such as Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Indio, CA. There is an opportunity to pick up additional hours in busy locations like Iris MOB II, Murrieta, and Riverside service areas. The work environment includes interaction with patients and medical staff in a clinical setting, with all interactions with minors supervised by a supervisor or RN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
