Job Description

Power Plant Control Systems Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, design, programming, implementation, and maintenance of the ABB Control System and other programmable control systems across our 260-MW dual fuel combined cycle power plant, 1-MW solar array, and 2-MW battery storage system. Key responsibilities include:

Analyzing inter-related systems/programs and assessing the impact of changes.
Maintaining the control system database and process control computers for various equipment.
Troubleshooting, repairing, and programming process control computers.
Researching and installing hardware/software updates.
Performing general maintenance on motors, breakers, and switchgear associated with high voltage electrical systems.
Calibrating and repairing electrical, pneumatic, and electronic control systems.
Supervising 1-2 subordinates as needed.
Operating under the general supervision of the Power Plant Maintenance Supervisor with leeway for independent judgment.
Extended hours and on-call availability required.
Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
In-depth understanding of power plant operational systems, electrical/electronic theory, and motor control centers.
Expertise in instrumentation and control systems within power plant operations.
Proficiency in cable pulling techniques, conduit installations, high voltage cable termination, and switchgear maintenance.
Strong programming skills and knowledge of operating systems and computer/peripheral equipment capabilities.
Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform corrective procedures.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong organizational and scheduling abilities.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, vendors, and employees at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications:

Option A: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience.
Option B: Associate degree in Engineering/Electronic Technology or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience.
Option C: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 8 years of relevant experience.
Option D: Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as defined above.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 125,000.00 Per Year
