Property Accountant – Commercial Real Estate
Location: Houston, Texas | Fully In-Office | $75K to $90K based on experience

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant with commercial real estate experience. In this role, you will manage full-cycle accounting for assigned properties, including financial reporting, lease administration, and CAM, tax, and insurance recoveries. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical skills, and is experienced with property accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly property financial statements
• Calculate and reconcile annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM), property tax, and insurance recoveries
• Maintain accurate lease records in Yardi, including operating expense recovery schedules
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper lease input and interpretation
• Monitor daily cash balances and perform bank reconciliations
• Assist in preparing annual property operating budgets
• Calculate and process monthly management fees
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Support setup of new projects under the guidance of the Accounting Manager

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience in commercial real estate
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with property management/accounting software; Yardi Voyager preferred
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
