Residential Counselor (CASAC) - Astoria, NY - Full Time (Onsite) - Sun-Thu - 07:00am-03:00pm or 03:00pm-11:00pm (Flexibility Required) - $50,000 – $55,000 Per Year

Compensation:
Pay Range:$50,000 - $55,000 Per Year



Summary:

• The position requires a professional to assist individuals in the Astoria, NY area with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
• The role involves providing counseling services in a full-time capacity, Sunday - Thursday - 7am 3pm or 3pm -11pm (flexibility required).
• The ideal candidate will utilize various counseling strategies and technologies to support client growth and development.

Requirements:

• Full CASAC certification
• Organizational and communication skills
• Critical thinking and sound judgment skills
• Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social sciences with one year of experience in drug rehabilitation
• Associate's degree in behavioral or social sciences with two years of experience in substance abuse treatment
• High School Diploma with three years of paid experience in drug rehabilitation

Qualifications:

• Experience in facilitating individual and group sessions
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in developing and implementing recovery plans
• Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies
• Experience in maintaining electronic medical records
• Ability to use various counseling models and approaches
