Job Title: Tool Crib Attendant

Job Description:

You’ll manage tools and safety items used across the facility including fabrication shop and field.

• Checking tools in/out daily for field and shop use.
• Inspecting and tagging equipment before it’s issued.
• Repairing electric tools (grinders, drills, welding leads, etc.).
• Performing monthly job-site tool audits.
• Tracking all consumables and PPE (welding gear, fall protection).
• Coordinating with the Maintenance and Safety teams to resolve repair vs. replace decisions.
• Maintaining ERP records and ordering small parts and safety inventory.
• Keeping storage areas compliant, stocked, and ready for audits.
• Operating forklifts/cranes when necessary (if certified).

You report to the Tool Crib Manager and collaborate with Purchasing, Fabrication, and Safety leads daily. This is a hands-on, self-directed role.

Required Skills:

• Tool repair (grinders, welding cords, power tools).
• Inventory control (min. 1,000-item system).
• PPE and safety equipment compliance (OSHA fall protection).
• Ability to read technical manuals and shop drawings.
• Forklift/crane operation (if certified).
• Strong coordination across field/shop teams.
• ERP data entry (for inventory and purchasing).

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in a tool crib role (construction or industrial setting).
• Familiarity with welding consumables, safety gear, and power tool maintenance.
• Ability to track and tag tools for over 10 active job sites monthly.
• Comfortable working around structural steel, concrete, and fabrication teams.
• English literacy (for labeling, documentation, repair instructions).
