Job Description
The Transportation Specialist will ensure that customer orders are shipped in a timely manner while meeting customer expectation of product arrival. This role will report to the Logistics Manager
Job Duties:
- Reviews daily orders to ensure all orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Coordinates with warehouse team to ensure orders are staged and ready to ship on correct date.
- Correctly troubleshoot, investigate, resolve and/or escalate issues with suggested resolution.
- Enters shipping information into the transportation management system accurately while working with a sense of urgency.
- Assist in the planning and modification of daily schedules as appropriate; make notifications to customers and managers as to the status of shipments.
- Tracks shipments to ensure optimal service.
- Proactively communicate with customers and management team to ensure necessary requirements are met.
- Assists warehouse team in stacking product on pallets.
- Seals trailer doors outside of work area.
- Safely operates lifting and moving equipment.
- Follows all policies, standards, and safety requirements.
- Works well in a team environment with tight deadlines
- Performs other duties as requested by management
